(Product Review) Magnetic Knife Holder, Heavy Duty Stainless Steel 12 Inch Knife Bar

As I mentioned in a previous review, I have a lot of knives in my kitchen. Some are stored in knife blocks on my counter, and many more are organized within drawers. I recently purchased this Magnetic Knife Holder, Heavy Duty Stainless Steel 12 Inch Knife Bar in an effort to better organize my kitchen.

The first thing I noticed about this product when I took it out of the box is how heavy it was. It says heavy duty, and the weight suggests that this is true. It is made of stainless steel and is a very solid knife bar. It comes with two mounting screws that can easily be attached to any supporting wall. The magnet in this knife bar is powerful. I am always concerned with safety, and wanted to make sure that this would securely hold my knives in place. I tested it with everything from a paring knife to a meat cleaver and found that even the heavier objects were held securely in place. This is important since I wouldn't want any of these sharp objects to come loose and drop on my toes, my pets or my grandchildren.

Another nice thing about this knife bar is that the attractiveness of it's appearance. I like objects that are both attractive and functional, and one is both. Having this knife bar on my wall makes my knives easily accessible and I can find just the right knife at a glance instead of having to dig through a drawer or pull several different knives out of the knife block until I find the one I am looking for. It also makes it quick and simple to put away the clean knives once the dishes are done. No opening drawers or finding an empty slot in the knife block, just pop it onto the bar and it is done.

I am very pleased with this product, and now that I have tried it out for my knives, I am considering getting a couple more. Someone suggested that this would also come in handy for other utensils, and I think that is a great idea. Many of my utensils are non-metallic, but I also have many that are made of metal. I would love to be able to keep those utensils at easy reach where I can find them at a glance. Additionally, I think this would work great in my craft room to keep some of my crafting tools handy. I believe it would work well for holding things like scissors, pliers, and a multitude of other metallic tools. Speaking of tools, this would also work well in a workshop for things like wrenches, pliers or screwdrivers. The possibilities are endless.
