(Product Review) Boyon Portable Touch Control LED Desk Lamp USB Port & Power Adapter with Third Gear LED Eye Lamp, 3 Watts

I recently purchased the Boyon Portable Touch Control LED Desk Lamp USB Port & Power Adapter with Third Gear LED Eye Lamp, 3 Watts. I am glad I purchased this lamp because I really love it.

The lamp is small and lightweight, yet sheds plenty of light for my purposes. The base measures just about 4"x 5", and it stands about 11" high so it fits nicely in a tiny space on my desk. It can be plugged into either a USB or wall plug with the included charger, or you can unplug it and it will work for around 10 hours before you need to recharge it again. This is a definite plus for me since we have had multiple power outages in the area and it is always nice to have some sort of backup lighting.

The lamp is very lightweight at just 6.6 ounces yet despite the light weight plastic and metal construction, I have had no problems with it tipping. It seems to balance well in every angle I have adjusted it to. Just because the lamp is small and lightweight does not mean that it looks cheap either. It is actually a rather attractive little lamp. I like the sleek, modern styling of this lamp.

There are three brightness settings on this lamp, controlled by a touch pad on the lamp base. This makes it convenient to have just the right amount of light for whatever you need. Personally, I have sensitive eyes and many brighter lights bother my eyes. I like the lowest setting for background or nightlight purposes, but when I need a little more light it is very nice to be able to just reach over and touch the lamp and have just the right amount of light to easily see what I'm doing. I use it a lot for reading small print or doing fine work at my desk.

Keep in mind that this is a small desk lamp and shouldn't be expected to light up a large area brightly. Even so, it works perfectly for it's intended purpose. It sheds enough light on my desk area allowing me to read small print or similar tasks. Depending on the adjustment angle of the lamp, it sheds light in an area of probably a couple of feet, though the further you get from the lamp the dimmer the light will become. This is true of any light source and is to be expected.

Another thing I really like about this lamp is the flexible goose-neck which allows you to easily focus the light wherever it is needed. It is easy to bend it in any direction, making it easy to shed some light wherever it is needed.

According to the specifications this light has an average life of 50000 hours although I can't personally vouch for this as I haven't had it nearly that long. This lamp came fully charged and ready to use. It also came complete with the 14 LED bulb and charger.

They also have a 4 watt clamp lamp available. I hope to pick one of these up in the future and see how it compares. I am happy however with the 3 watt lamp that I bought. This is definitely a keeper.
