(Product Review) Expel Natural Animal Repellent & Mice Repellent

It is that time of year again when the weather gets colder and the mice start looking for somewhere warm to stay. In other words, it is time for their annual attempt at migrating to the warmth of my house. Every year we get a few that manage to get past my dog and make it into the house, and every year we have to battle to get them back outside where they belong. This year I decided to try Expel Natural Animal Repellent & Mice Repellent in an attempt to get rid of them before they become a problem.

This product claims that it is a patented blend of natural, non-toxic and biodegradable ingredients which gets rid of pests safely and naturally. Because of the various animals it specifically mentioned, I was curious if it would bother my dog. After all, I don't want to chase her from my home or make her uncomfortable here. Because of this I tested by spraying one area at a time, starting with my bedroom and slowly working my way through the house so that I could make sure it wouldn't irritate her since it claims that it irritates an animals sense of smell and taste, driving them away naturally. I am glad to say that it did not seem to bother her in the slightest.

I am also happy to report that the smell of this product was not offensive to myself or my family. I was a bit concerned, but when I opened the bottle and smelled it, it was not unpleasant at all. I caught a hint of cinnamon and perhaps ginger, among other things. It was rather a pleasant aroma that did not irritate my asthma nor any of my family or pets. I was rather pleased with the scent.

According to the directions, you should apply liberally, and each application should last up to 30 days. I don't know yet if it does, but I have sprayed areas where I thought the mice might try to enter my house, as well as places they might like to hide once they gain entry. So far I haven't seen any mice, although my son said he thought he heard one a couple of days ago. The jury is still out on this one, but so far I think it is helping because by this time of year I am usually digging for mouse traps and haven't had to do this yet.

I will be re-applying it again soon, and will inspect the area where my son thinks he heard the noise. If I see any signs there, I will spray a bit extra in that area and see what happens. In the mean time, I give this product my thumbs up, because anytime I can find a safe, effective, nontoxic, natural product that actually works, I am all for it.
