(Product Review) PhatMat Premium Silicone Baking Mats

I have used a few different varieties of grill mats over the past year or so, and recently got this set of PhatMat Premium Silicone Baking Mats.

The mats work similarly to the grilling mats I have been using although this is the first set made from silicone. They work really well in my oven for baking breads and cookies. I have used them on several occasions and my baked goods come out nicely browned. They also work well for meats and vegetables.

Each mat is a half sheet size that when placed on my cookie sheets will easily cook a nice meal for my family. I used to use a lot of aluminum foil for lining pans, but these PhatMats make the aluminum foil unnecessary. I am saving money by using this product that can easily be washed in warm soapy water or thrown in the dishwasher, rather than constantly using aluminum foil for so much of my cooking.

These mats also work great as a pastry sheet. I can use it for rolling out or kneading my dough and it makes cleaning up a breeze. My favorite part of the set is the included griller mat though. I love this mat with the open mesh that is made specifically for use on the grill.

I will be using this one a lot this summer when barbecue season comes around. My family loves to have cookouts, but the grates to grills are such a pain to clean. I always end up using aluminum foil on the grates, and even then the cleanup is not the easiest. Top that with the occasional piece of aluminum foil that has to be picked out of your food, and you will understand why I would much rather use a product like this. I am enjoying this set so far, and am certain that I will get a lot more enjoyment out of it once the weather warms up.

Although I got this product at a discount or received a complimentary sample in exchange for my honest review, all thoughts and opinions on the products I review are always my own and have not been influenced by any discounts or samples which may have been provided to me.
