I always try to be prepared for any emergency, and the 1byone 9000mAh 12V Multi-Function Smart Portable Car Jump Starter Powerbank for Smartphones & Digital Devices is a great tool for emergency preparedness.

I can't begin to tell you how many times I have either found myself with a low battery or needed to help someone else who needed a jump start for their car. I always try to  carry a pair of jumper cables and a few tools with me when I am away from home, but having a portable jump starter along is definitely a good idea. This device has a starting current of 250 amps with a peak current of 450 amps which is great for many cars.  I also like that it has built in safety features which protect against those who may accidentally hook this up wrong. If you have ever witnessed anyone accidentally connecting jumper cables backwards, you may have seen sparks fly, or even an explosion. My neighbor had a battery blow up in his face when connecting the cables the wrong direction, and believe me, it wasn't any fun for him or my family who were there at the time. This wouldn't have happened with this device.

My son who is a mechanic glanced this portable jump starter over although he didn't actually test it, but says that it should work for many cars. He wasn't sure if it was powerful enough for my truck because it seems to take a lot to give my truck a jump start, but that is the fault of the truck and not the jump starter. I haven't tried it out yet since I haven't had a dead battery since I got this, but I am carrying it along with me in case it is needed. Besides giving your car a jump start, this is also a useful device for other purposes though. It can also act as a powerbank to give new life to your cellphone or tablet. This could be very handy if you are broke down along the road somewhere with no way to contact anyone. It also has a built in flashlight which can be set to various modes such as a steady light, a strobing light or an SOS signal light. Even though I haven't had to use this on my car yet, I feel better just knowing that it is there.
