Although I don't allow smoking in my car, there are times when one of my kids borrows the car and lights up without thinking about it. I also travel with pets and little kids at times. Even a quick stop at a fast food restaurant can leave a lingering odor in the car. 

This air freshener isn't like the others I have used in my car. It doesn't have a scent, and leaves no lingering odor of it's own to mask the foul odors in the car. Instead, the activated charcoal in this air freshener absorbs the odors naturally. 

This is made to hang on the headrest, behind your seat. It hangs out of your site, on the back of the seat. I have no problem with the looks of it in the back seat either, but if someone did, they could tuck it under the seat instead. Just know that it will be more effective if it is out there where the odors are. 

This is intended to absorb odors for at least a full year. It is suggested that you should place it in direct sunlight for an hour or so every few months to help maintain the most effectiveness possible. I don't think this will be a problem since I often park in sunny areas. With this hanging on the back of the seat it should get all the direct sunlight it needs. 

I really like that my car doesn't have all the funky smells in it now, and none of the artificial scents that bother my asthma that some of the other air fresheners have. I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this product to others.
