(Product Review) TriNova's Castile Soap
There are many recipes for homemade laundry soaps, pestisides and more that use some of the same ingredients in them, so I decided to purchase TriNova's Castile Soap to try some of these recipes myself. This product came in a large 32 ounce bottle, so I have a lot of this soap to experiment with.
Although there is no ingredient label on the bottle or on the website, it does say that it is a "safe, powerful and versatile cleaning solution for your entire home". This oil based soap can be used for a large variety of purposes including everything from cleaning dishes or floors, to bathing your pets, to washing your laundry, hair or skin, as a shaving soap, to protect your plants from pests, and much more. This is truly a versatile soap that I have used on many surfaces in the past.
The soap is a semitransparent, yellowish color. The cap is easy to open by pressing down on the tab, and the edge of the cap with the spout pops out for easy dispensing of the liquid soap. The bottle contains some suggestion as to how much to dilute it for various uses. For example, 1/4 cup of castile soap mixed with 1 quart of water in a spray bottle makes an excellent all purpose cleaner, or a tablespoon of castile soap mixed with a quart of water and a dash of cayenne pepper will discourage bugs from invading your plants. You can even use this product by mixing 1 tablespoon of the soap in a bowl of water to remove pesticides and residue from your fresh fruits and vegetables. There are several other examples provided on the bottle as well, or you can find more online with a quick search.
One of the recipes I tried was one I found online to make homemade laundry detergent. This product is unscented, so even if combining it with other products, the scent of this soap would not overpower or conflict with other scents. For my laundry detergent I added a few drops of one of my favorite essential oils to the mix. I love that my laundry came out clean and smelling nice. I recommend this product, and love that it came in such a generous sized bottle.
Although I got this product at a discount or received a complimentary sample in exchange for my honest review, all thoughts and opinions on the products I review are always my own and have not been influenced by any discounts or samples which may have been provided to me for testing purposes.
