(Product Review) Wine Saver Kit - Stainless Steel Wine Saver Vacuum Pump with 2 bottle stoppers - Unique Design

I don't always save a partial bottle of wine for later, but when I do, this Wine Saver Kit - Stainless Steel Wine Saver Vacuum Pump with 2 bottle stoppers - Unique Design helps to keep if fresh for a couple of weeks until I am ready to finish it.

Allowing your wine to breathe before drinking it greatly improves the flavor, but aerating the entire bottle of wine when you won't be drinking more than a couple of glasses can lead to soured wine that is left for later on. Sometimes a partial bottle of wine that is left horizontally in the wine cooler or refrigerator can also leak, making a big mess and wasting your expensive wine.

To use this gadget, I pour the amount of wine I expect that we will be drinking into our glasses or into a decanter. I then place one of the two included stoppers onto the bottle, making sure to clean it first. It fits most bottles without any problems. Next, I place the pump on top of the stopper and pump it about 8-10 times to pump the air out of the bottle and create a vacuum. The bottle is now ready to be stored.

The product description says you can store your bottles horizontally, and I have done this with no problems, but the directions say that you should keep them upright. It might be a good idea to place them upright just in case, especially with a more expensive wine, but I had to test it for myself using a less expensive variety.

It has been about a week now since I first opened the bottle of wine and resealed it with this product, and when I reopened it last night, the wine tasted just as fresh as when I first opened it.

Although I was offered this product at a discount or received a complimentary sample in exchange for my fair and honest review, all thoughts and opinions on the products I review are always my own and have not been influenced by any discounts or samples which may have been provided to me for testing purposes. Questions and comments are welcomed.
